Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman, an Olympic gold medalist gymnast, was the one who led the U.S. to victory in both 2012 as well as in the year 2016. The six Olympic gold medals are part of a record-breaking total. Aly was also the winner of two World Championships teams. Aly is a native of Needham in Massachusetts. The passion she has for the sport of gymnastics is traceable to an 18-month old "mommy with me" class. Aly Raisman has been a champion for body positivity and is a role model both on the floor and off, and she spoke against Larry Nassar during his sentencing hearing. Born in 1994, Aly Raisman started gymnastics in her early years and was a part of the U.S. gymnastics team win the 2011 World Championships. The American gymnast won two gold medals in 2012 in the London Summer Olympics two of which were for the team and another for floor exercises. Raisman was awarded silver medals in both the individual and floor finals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Also, she took home a gold award in the gymnastics team competition. Raisman revealed in 2017 that she had been sexually assaulted by her former team physician Larry Nassar. The following year, she filed suit with USA Gymnastics as well as the U.S. Olympic Committee. Jazmine, a Philadelphia native, was born and raised in the city. Pam, Jazmine's mother, was a backing vocalist who was a part of Philadelphia International Records.
